Great tips. I'm not a boomer but I am self-employed and one thing I would add is to SIMPLIFY. Not only will your clients thank you but some of the biggest businesses there are -- Apple, for example -- are also the most simple. Why clutter up your logo with wacky colors and busy graphics? Get a pro to design something sleek and simple in Illustrator that conveys your personality. Why pay 100s for a PBX system when you could get an advanced 800 through a company like gotvmail that does essentially the same thing? I like having a professional answering service but when clients call they should be directed to you or a live support team member as soon as possible. Again -- simple. Simple pretty much = pro.
